The Hidden Dangers of Vaping that You Need to Know About
Vaping has been on the rise for years now and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. Many people promote and even praise this behavior. All over the country, vape shops are constantly popping up. If vapers knew what some doctors and researchers know about vaping, maybe they would stop. Or not. But maybe they would think twice before putting an e-cigarette back up to their mouth.
What is Vaping?
For those of you that do not know, a vaporizer also known as a vape is a device that is used to heat up liquids that are meant to be inhaled and turn them into vapors. Maybe you’ve seen commercials where hippies are smoking with this weird-looking device and a lot of smoke or vapor is being blown into the air. This is vaping through the use of hookahs. If hippies were doing this in the 1960’s it shows just how long vaping has truly been around. However, it wasn’t until a few years ago that this fad came back and everyone started to join in.
Smoking of e-cigarettes is a form of vaping using nicotine which is a very addicting substance that is found in regular cigarettes. There are different brand names of e-cigarettes but some of the most popular names are JUUL, Mig Vapor and the list goes on and on. Anyone looking for vaporizer and accessories would have no problem finding them. These items are easily accessible and affordable online and in vape shops. Tobacco stores may also carry these products.
Why Do People Vape?
Many have claimed that vaping has a lot of health benefits. Some say that they vape to relieve stress and anxiety or just to simply relax. Others do it because they think it’s fun and cool. While others do it out of peer pressure because everyone else is doing it. Some people vape in an effort to break loose from the addictive substances that are found in cigarettes. As you may have guessed, these benefits aren’t holding true for many people. It is hard to tell exactly why people vape because everyone has their own motives, but you can be sure that it is likely for vain reasons.
Is Vaping Dangerous?
When vaping first came back on the scene, everyone was raving over it and putting it on high. It was easy for people who knew nothing about vaping or vaping products to be influenced and led to believe that vaping was innocent. This is not the case. Vaping is far from innocent. It is most definitely dangerous and there is research to prove it. The number of health issues that vaping imposes on the body greatly outweighs any benefits it may truly have. The health problems a person can stand to gain from vaping varies. Research has now begun to shed light on the dangers of vaping.
Every day, commercials are being shown that broadcast and put on blast the dangers of vaping. These commercials often show real-life people who have engaged in vaping, telling their stories. They have nothing nice to say about vaping. In fact, one young girl on one of these commercials said that vaping gave her really bad anxiety and she says that she was never an anxious person before.
This goes against the benefits that supporters of vaping are claiming to have. Rather than getting rid of anxiety, it appears that vaping actually causes anxiety. Wait, but that was only one person making that claim, right? Wrong! There is a lot more research being done on vaping and e-cigarettes and these studies are exposing the dangers of vaping as well. Yes, vaping is dangerous. Let’s take a look at some of the health conditions and side-effects that come from vaping.
The side effects of vaping are too numerous to name. However, recent research has provided valuable information that is too good to not talk about. Studies have shown that cigarettes and e-cigarettes wreak more havoc on the body than vaping does. Even if this is the case, it doesn’t change the fact that there are risks involved when it comes to vaping. This is regardless of how often a person does and even if the vape fluids are nicotine-free.
Some of the side effects of vaping and e-cigarettes according to drug watch are:
· Dry mouth
· Dry eyes
· Sore throat
These are some of the short-term side effects just to name a few. None of these are pleasant to experience and one would think that knowing this much would be enough to stop people from vaping. Truth is, many people are still vaping, and even more, will continue to vape and smoke e-cigarettes thus resulting in a number of long-term health problems.
Obviously, side effects are short term and can be treated a lot easier than long-term effects or health problems. According to Healthline some of the health problems that are caused by vaping are: Heart attacks
· Lung disease
· Respiratory issues
· Cardiovascular problems overall
Some studies are more in support of vaping than e-cigarettes and cigarettes because they appear to cause less damage. However, many people are experiencing vaping poisoning and thousands of people have died from vaping related health problems.
Not only does vaping affect your insides but it also causes physical damage to your body. For example, your gums and teeth may become infected or stained. Studies have also shown that vaping can rot your teeth and make your hair and breath stink just like cigarettes.
Vaping is very dangerous and the products that are being inhaled are bad for your health. Yes, vaping is unhealthy for anyone regardless of age or race. A lot of people do not want to believe these things about vaping because it may be something they enjoy doing. The fact still remains that vaping has its associated risks and dangers. So, step up, take action and put down the vape for good!
